Let's Do Trivia - Dogfish Head - 5/26/25

We are winding down to our final game of the season. June 9 th will be our last game of the year. We had a good turnout tonight as the long weekend led to 14 teams here tonight. A well fought first half led to a 4-way tie for second place and May Tired Teachers with the early lead. The second half of the game the teams were scrambling to get themselves into a position to make a late lunge at the lead. Going into the final it was The Know Nothings in second place with newcomers Corn in the lead. The final was tricky, but we did have several teams come up with the correct answer. Tonight it was the Freshman with a correct answer and a 20 point wager making them the big winners. The trivia season at Dogfish Head is closing out soon, June 9 th will be our last game for the season, picking up fall. Tonights game was a fun one with the teams scrambling for answers at times and other times totally dominating. After the halftime question it was The Know Nothings and the Pemberton Bunch tied for the top spot. The second half of the game we saw some teams slip down, yet still other rose up. Going into the final it was The Know Nothings and the Beer Hole Surfers in a tie for the top spot. The Final was tricky and only one team came up with the correct answer rocketing them from back in the pack to the top and making the Freshman tonight's big winners. Another great day as we come closer to our summer hiatus after June 9 th . Tonights game was a fun one with a couple new teams and a bunch of the classic gang. The first half was pretty close and it would stay that way all night. After the halftime question it was the Hopeless in the early lead. The second half it was all over the place and I even got confused some. We all seemed to pull it together and came out in the end with an exciting end. Going into the final question it was The Know nothings with the late lead. The final was about Mexican beers and when they were first introduced. Only one team came up with the correct answer and it was Team Hopeless with this weeks win. For a bonus 3 points in round 2 question 1 draw me a picture of a goose. Starting to get warm out and the teams all made their way to have some nice and refreshing beer. The first half was a little all over the place with the teams spreading themselves out a little bit. After the halftime question it was Team Ginny with the narrow lead over The Know Nothings. The second half was another great half. The teams were really mixing it up tonight and it was truly anyones game. Going into the final it was Team Ginny again with the lead. The final turned out to be a little too tricky and I didn't receive any correct answers so it was all down to wagering. Team Ginny held out for the win with a zero point wager making them this weeks big winners. Let's Do Trivia - Dogfish Head - 4/14/25

Finally back at Dogfish for my hosting duties. We had 15 teams show up ready to test their big brains against each other. The game got off to a slow start as the warm day must have cooked some brain cells. After the first half though it was a tight race with Spring Ahead in the early lead. The second half was much closer and people seemed more warmed up or properly lubricated to get the gears turning. Going into the final it was still Spring Ahead in the lead with 3 teams tied up right behind them. It was a tricky final, but we did have some correct answers paired with 20 point wagers. NO GAME THIS WEEK as Dogfish Head is closed for an employee volunteer day. John unexpectedly back to cover for Dan. A lighter-than-typical week with only about 60 players on 9 teams but lots of tourists. Dan returns April 14th for more fun and perhaps a little sarcasm. Leading the party at halftime was Team Ginny! They had a solid 5-point lead over 2nd place HereForTheBeer who was one up over FRESHMEN. The rest of the field were pretty tight as the game seemed to be uniformly in everyone's wheelhouse, which of course makes me rearrange the 2nd half to create separation. Your halftime show was brought to you by beer. Mmmm, beer. Team Ginny managed to maintain their lead going into the final question. FRESHMEN took over 2nd place as Pemberton Bunch gave the competition a run for their money and taking 3rd place.
